I choose to shop with WLF because I like to know the provenance of the food I eat, and knowing that I am supporting my local farmers & suppliers makes the food taste that much better. Walden Local Food is the perfect example of how buying food should be, a personal experience with people you trust to provide you with quality products and sound advice.

We love the veg box service. What you might get with each fortnightly delivery is a surprise every time and that's a wonderful thing because it makes you more creative with your cooking. It's all super fresh and much lovelier than what you'll find on the supermarket shelves, just perhaps a little bit muddier! And, then, of course you get to feel virtuous for supporting local farmers and producers, so all in all jolly good.

We love Walden Local Food as we get great tasting food with a chuckle. It's great to eat seasonally! We get the best tasting veggies, locally sourced and we know that we are supporting local business's which to us is important. In all honesty, you get food that tastes as it should do... I forgot that lettuce and cucumber actually had a taste. The thought of Winter Squashes are making me look forward to autumn already... is that a bad thing?

WLF is the perfect place to get seasonal produce that hasn't been half
way round the world - the next best thing to growing it yourself and served
with cheery banter from Liz and her team!

I love the local market, it has a wonderful display of vegetables and fruit in season. There is a great variety of stuff too, attractively presented, temptingly fresh and all grown right close to home. It is also very good value, which is useful when the family all come round for dinner. There are a lot of interesting ideas as well: things in jars and bottles, sweet things, savoury things - absolutely delicious. Many thanks to the cheerful young people running the stall; they brighten even the rainiest of days.

Missing our Spring Greens in Monument Valley, Arizona.
Our lovely veg stall, Walden Local, has the probably the prettiest,
freshest and tastiest produce in the county,
all in support of our local producers... no carbon permits needed here!

Very behind the cause of local food, in fact proud of local produce and it is good value on the stall as well as quality. Ticks all boxes.

Our local food market is great, I like the seasonal differences reflected in the ever changing array of fresh fruit and veg, top quality, tasty, well presented, good service, and it ticks all the right ethical boxes, long may it prosper!

We've always liked to support local independents, which is one of the reasons why we enjoy living so close to Saffron Walden. It is a lovely town to shop in anyway, and WLF is very much in the spirit of that. Fresh local stuff, always something interesting, and such friendly staff.

The freshness of the locally grown fruit and veg is very appealing. They stay fresh through the week whereas supermarket produce would be in the compost bin! I also like the return to seasonality - it's how we will all again live in the future but will enjoy everything at it's tastiest.

I love the local food market! The days of out of season tasteless strawberries are well and truly over for me (and for everyone else when peak oil, climate change and economic meltdown conspire to make supermarket shopping a luxury nobody can afford). It's great to know that we are preserving local resilience, supporting local suppliers and eating good fresh seasonal produce which actually tastes like its supposed to. It's also good to meet up with Liz, Karen, Ian and the regulars for a good chat!
