Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of fungi. Some are deadly poisonous, some inedible, some glorious and unique in flavour and texture.

We sell flat (portabello), button and open cup mushrooms that have been cultivated in tunnels, known as field mushrooms.

Mushrooms were used in ancient medicine and herbalism, first sold as a food in the 18th century.

If you are foraging in the wild take much care, and remember, "there are either bold or old mushroom collectors - not bold and old".
